Trip to Sweden and Norway - Day 12
Our flight home
was as uneventful as our flight to Sweden. It started early in the
morning when taxi came to get all of us. We loaded the van with all of
our baggage, Elias' car seat and ourselves and made it to the airport.
We were there with plenty of time to spare - why? Because no one was
there initially. We waited for a while, then the ticketing agents
finally opened their stations. Grandma and Grandpa went first and
checked in through Stockholm to Chicago then to Detroit.
Ok, I lied. There was a bit of an event. The ticket agent had quite a
time checking us in. But eventually we had our boarding passes.
We climbed onto the small twin prop plane, and flew out of Karlstad to
Stockholm. In Stockholm we said our goodbyes and waited for our
respective flights out.
We wound up having quite a layover in Copenhagen - a wonderful airport
if you ever get a chance to visit. There's literally a mall inside the
airport with just about anything you could think of. There is
also a huge children's play area, complete with a gigantic "ball pit" -
play structure filled with those crazy brightly colored plastic balls.
At one point we "lost" Elias in the balls - he was so covered in them!
Our flight was direct from Copenhagen to Seattle. We all slept for part
of it, and at least this time Elias didn't crash the computer in his
seat.
Overall it was an incredibly enjoyable, restful, wonderful vacation.
We've been recommending it to anyone who will listen to our story since
we got back!
