Trip to Sweden and Norway - Travel Day

We arrived at the airport at around 4pm, and had no problems getting through the line at the ticket counter line at the airport. Security was easy too. We got to the gate very quickly.

The flight was completely uneventfuly. SAS is wonderful. There are computers in the seatbacks that have games, movies, music and you can watch the flight (including forward and downward . cameras). We flew RIGHT over our house – we saw it on the downward camera!  Lauren wound up watching the movie “The Hours” – very good movie even though missed here and there while Elias was being extremely active. So active in fact that within 2 hours he managed to crash his computer playing a game. Try as I might, I couldn’t get it to reset the entire rest of the 9 hour flight. He was really bummed. The computer finally reset after we landed and they plugged the plane into the main land power

In economy they even give you the following: a bag with a sleeping mask, tooth brush, tooth paste, and earplugs (Elias thought the earplugs were cool). There was a pillow and blanket waiting on the seat when we arrived. We were flying on an A340, which had pretty roomy seats, even for economy. Economy extra is even more roomy – you also get some more amenities, but not the same as first or business class. The extra room would have been nice while trying get Elias to sleep.

Dinner was excellent – Elias and Lauren got special meals – him a kids meal and a fish meal for Lauren. Good thing too, the regular meal had red meat in it. The food was really quite good – not your typical airplane food. They also were very free with the rolls and wasa crisp crackers.  And the alcohol was free.
