Trip to Sweden and Norway - Day 9

We woke up early, got all dressed, and got on an 8:25 train to Oslo. That was completely uneventful. After getting off the train, we walked to our hotel, the same one that my folks stayed with Jacki.

We had lunch in an outdoor restaurant in a park, then tried to check in. Couldn’t do that, so we took the ferry ride to the museums, saw the Viking museum, the Kon Tiki museum and Ruben ran into the Nordic museum and saw a great movie about the fjords.

We finally were able to check in, and headed up to the room… then proceeded to all crash for about 2 hours.

Dinner was ok – Ruben had reindeer, Elias was grumpy, and I ordered too much, but it was in a lovely location on the 2nd floor.

After dinner we took a long walk and explored. We wound up seeing a police on a horse talking to a guy with a needle sticking out of his arm. That was a little disconcerting. We also saw what looked like a few streetwalkers, pretty early in the evening too. Lauren got a little nervous walking around as it was getting dark, so we headed back to the main strip, and wandered back towards the hotel. We stopped for some ice cream/snacks and people watching.  Once at the hotel, Ruben went on walkabout again and found out what the difference between Stockholm and Oslo is – the main difference is prostitution is legal here.
