Trip to Sweden and Norway - Day 3

Ruben, dad and I watched Sum of all Fears until after 1pm. I think Ruben and I got to sleep around 2pm… after checking the night sky. We could see a hint of light to the east – and not just lights from the city.

Around 4:30 pm I woke up hearing Elias screaming. He was just in a strange place and weirded out. I tried to get him back to sleep, but he wouldn’t without me in the room and I couldn’t sleep there. I eventually brought him back down to our bedroom. He slept with Papa, and I started to write this “novella.” I think I fell asleep around 7am, for about an hour. I couldn’t sleep much more because I had horrible heartburn, which it turns out continued all day. Likely it was hormonally based.

Everyone else woke up around 9:30 am. By 11:30 am we were on the road – driving my mom to her hair dresser’s appointment to become blonde. Although less than a mile or so from the house, it took us the whole 1/2 hour (or more) to get there because we got lost. I started to get carsick… We finally found the hairdresser’s, then my dad drove through town and dropped us off at the Varmland Museum. We spent about 1.5 hours there, looking at the history of that part of Sweden where we could. Elias spent easily 1/2 an hour playing on an old boat, driving it, and trying to fool around with a couple of boys there. After our museum time, the weather had cleared, so we walked to the Centrum (center of town) for lunch. After lunch we had a snack at our favorite Latte place (Zegga) and got some yummy deserts.

Ruben, Elias and I walked back to the house, with cakes in tow. The rest of the afternoon was spent pretty leisurely, followed by a walk to a restaurant called Café August. We ate outdoors again, next to a play area for children (that included 2 more boats, sunk partially into the ground). Elias and I got some Tea with dinner… he’s been very excited about drinking tea since his mother’s day tea at school.

The walk back included a stop at the park near by the house. Elias had a terrific time.
